Maria Rashid completed her doctorate from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in Politics and International Studies in 2018. A psychologist by training, she has worked with various national and international non-governmental organisations in Pakistan for over twenty years. She continues to be involved in training and research around violence, gender and militarism, and is associated with a number of networks and collaboratives both in Pakistan and the UK. She is currently a post-doctoral scholar at the UCL Social Research Institute at University College London, UK.
